April is nationally recognized as Child Abuse Prevention Month. In observance of this, Child Abuse Prevention Services is planning a number of activities and events to highlight the prevention of child abuse that takes place in our community.
Pinwheels are the symbol of a happy, carefree childhood and you will see them around Marshalltown this month. Also making a return are the Blue Kids…these three foot tall wooden “kids” are a symbol of awareness and prevention efforts.
Throughout the month, you will hear and see more about the work our agency does. We truly believe that TOGETHER WE CAN CREATE GREAT CHILDHOODS!
Child Abuse Prevention Services is a non-profit, human service organization located in Marshalltown, Iowa.
Child Abuse Prevention Services was established as a grassroots effort working to address the problem of child abuse in Marshall County and the surrounding areas. Believing that prevention was the answer, the private, non-profit organization was established in 1981.
Child abuse CAN and IS being prevented. At Child Abuse Prevention Services more than 6,700 children and adults are reached each year through our prevention programs.
